If there is one comment that I can't stand it's the title of this post!
I have heard this tooo many times and I do not know where that comment came from????
When I became a Christian my life was so radically transformed by God that all I wanted to do was to tell the world about Jesus Christ!!!
And I can tell you 20 some years later that has not changed!!!
I can tell you right now that the title of this post is a major lie in the minds of many. It's so ironic that I hear this comment coming from people that I expect have been set free from sin and bondage because of the cross of Christ - but, have they really????
Let's face it - the cross is not a pretty site!! I wouldn't say being crucified and tourtured are non offensive to the regular person - also the fact that Jesus stood for Truth and Righteousness and lived a sinless life. So..... To say all that what Gospel is being preached if it's non offensive.
Let's get real - the biggest lie to prevent the gospel from going forth is exactly that. I've spoken to tons of people about the Gospel and most are thankful to hear the truth!!! It's expected that some will not like what they hear because it is offensive to their lifestyle - but isn't that the point.... they are on the path of destruction without knowledge of sin, repentance and Salvation, and how will they know!!! How will they hear without a preacher!!!!
God is sovereign that it is him that leads sinners to repentance and opens the eyes of those in darkness and has given every man a measure of Faith, and a conscience of right and wrong - but does that mean we are not to preach the Gospel!! NO OF COURSE NOT!!! He commands us to!! That's why he came - to seek and to save those that are lost!!!
So as a Christian why are we here??? To enjoy the fact that we now are saved from eternal flames and punishment, and just enjoy this great life God's given us??? Seriously, if we are truly saved His Spirit in us will not allow us to sit on the couch of life!!! The passion is too Great NOT to seek to save!!! He is the one who put it there in the first place - it all comes from Him!! And it's because of His GREAT love for all mankind!!!! The driving Force!!!!!
I believe that people are looking for those who are not ashamed of the Gospel!! This Generation is looking for the real thing!!!
I realize that the worst thing that we can do as Christians is to not preach the Gospel - I mean isn't that why we are here???? - The worst thing I could ever imagine hearing is: What you're a Christian???? I never new that.................... or EVEN worse would be: God saying, Depart from me, I never knew you...........
Now what were we saying about being offensive?? Let's get real!!
