WHO WILL ANSWER THE CALL

Hey! It's so hard to get a decent movie to watch these days.
If there isn't a few swear words or something gross - said or seen - then is it even out there??

Every so often a great movie comes along - and then I show some sort of interest in seeing it.
Seriously, I have learned my lesson on this, after many movie rentals being removed from the dvd player before the 3rd line - I decided to beware of anything I haven't looked into first.
There is something about the fact that the ratings are just not good enough.
To whose standards are they rated anyways??

It really gets me when I think of kids watching these movies rated at pg level - that are saying divorce is the norm - adultery is ok - swearing is normal. Like what is that!! When it gets to 14A - Put it this way......WHAT ARE WE THINKING!!!!

Is there a movie out there that's not showing girls that they have to reveal more skin to be noticed - is it possible to have female "role models" who wear their shirts..I'll leave that there.. - like hello - is anyone not had it with this stuff??

Is this what is shaping the minds of our generation, YES!.
It gets even worse when you flick on mtv or much and there is a warning about some viewers may be offended.
Like what kid is going to care about that when they tune in to see what's cool in the music scene??

Does anyone have the courage to step it up??
Why do these people think that young people want to see a constant stream of garbage day after day.
It makes it really difficult when there are no real options made known out there!!
Tune in to hear about great options.(coming soon)

It gets pretty crazy when I think of the trash that this society has poured out - does anyone care??
We teach our kids not to swear, not to hurt others, to respect property, to respect themselves, and the list goes on.......
Then we let them sit down with a few freinds to a good movie - filled with swearing, murder, twisted affairs, sex, crude humor and whatever else the writers and producers can fit in. Who are those writers and producers anyway??
Are they the people we want to shape the minds of our kids??

Then our kids swear, drink, do drugs, perform violent acts, have sex, dress sleazy, and get in trouble for it. Is there mixed messages being sent here??
Some one has to set something straight in all this.

We give these people WAY too much power! Just because someone has $$$ and can make a movie doesn't mean we should watch it - does it??

There is way too much of this in today's media. The limits just get pushed and pushed.
I tuned in to the MMVA's the other night to see some live bands perform, and it was within seconds that the channel was changed.
I had basically known this was goin to happen - I wanted to see if it was actually do-able and it was not!

Seriously, we need to answer the call that's going out for good strong media - that cares about the kids in this, and coming generations!!
I beleive that this genearation is getting sick of the constant stress of this and many of them will begin to take steps to put back great integrity when it comes to entertainment.

I can't help thinking to myself that the parents play huge roles in all this. We need to set the tone for this generation and be a voice also.
If we are strong in our stand in the home our kids will take a stand also.

So I put out a challange today to all of you who are parents.
Will you take a stand about what comes into your homes??
Will you stand on moral ground when it comes to what you watch??
Hey don't expect your teens to take a stand in their lives if they don't see you doing it!

This is very important - we are shaping lives - who do you want shaping the lives of your kids??

I'm not satisfied with the lack of morality hitting the air waves and the entertainment industry pushing it in the faces of our generation - will you respond to the call!
This is the beginning of change!
